Little Miss Diva

So the other day we were out shopping for diapers at the local Babies R US.  We decided to look around the clothes section and see if we could find little miss K some more summer clothes.  As we turned the corner of one of the aisles, Kambry saw these beauties and absolutely begged for them.  So, as any good Mom would do, I handed them to her.  She had to wear them - even with the ginormous tag on, but seriously how cute is she?

We could not touch these bad boys.  She was in love from the moment they were on, even with the awesome tag.  Daddy was finally able to pull the glasses off, remove the tag.

Alas - they look and feel so much better. I mean, look at that smile...
She was hilarious in them, and then suddenly took on some seriousness and became cool.
And the seriousness continued in the car...

And that is when we knew we had a little Diva on our hands!!  Isn't she the cutest little Diva you ever saw!!

Miracle of Adoption

I was recently shown this video about adoption.  It involves birth Moms and adoptive couples and illustrates how much love there is in adoption.  I loved it and thought you might as well.  Adoption really is all about LOVE!!

Enjoy!

Happy Birth Mothers Day!

Today was Birth Mothers Day, and we were so excited to spend the day with Suzy and Spencer.  We surprised them by taking them to the Zoo.  It was a fabulous day to spend together.
We started off by seeing the crazy Monkey's:
Next stop - Elephants!

Look guys - the Elephant is "Over there"!

And then there were the Rhinos...

And More Monkey's - Which were our favorites.  I mean, check out these 2.  One monkey checking out the other funny monkey who is laying on his back on a tree, Arms dangling and just flat out enjoying his day.  I mean, life doesn't get much better than this!!
Then next stop was another exhibit of Monkeys.  Too bad we didn't actually take pictures of these 2 monkeys, but they were AWESOME!!  They were barking so loudly and swinging all around.  We all loved them! They definitely did not disappoint!
We walked throughout the park, and Kambry loved being swung in the air by Suzy and I.
Kambry wasn't quite sure of the Alligators.
But loved the baby Kitty - MEOW!
And the big Giraffe's too.
And the slightly bigger kitty -
The big Gorilla was a hit too.
But the biggest hit of the whole day was spending time with Suzy
We are so incredibly lucky to have this special woman in our life.  Her selfless sacrifice made us parents and for that we are eternally grateful.  She is an amazing woman, and we thank Heavenly Father every day for bringing her into our life.  We love you Suzy and want to wish you a Happy Birth Mothers day!

Sleeping Beauty

As I Watch You Sleep-

© Wanda L. Gossett

I watched a little face sleeping,
Eyelashes fluttering so,
I wondered of the dream you were having,
and if Angles were playing there.

I watched a little face sleeping,
Your little mouth was smiling so,
I hope that you are as happy as me,
holding you in my arms.

I watched a little face sleeping,
making sure of the breath you take,
to watch you breathe and keep you safe,
is all that matters to me.

I watched a little face sleeping,
holding your small hand in mine,
five little fingers on each hand,
as one hangs onto mine.

I watched a little face sleeping,
and as I prayed to myself,
I thank God for letting me
watch a little face sleeping.

Just another day in the life!

So, last Friday little K had her 18 month check up.  She weighed in at a whopping 24lbs (70%) and was 32" tall (70%), and I can't remember her head measuremet, but it was in the 83%.  The doctor said she is tall and skinny, but VERY, Very Healthy!   She was good for the doctor, but didn't like the nurses very much, especially when they poked her with 3 shots.  She screamed like a champ for a few minutes afterward, and then was good to go.  She is such a little trooper!!  After the visit, she decided to come back to work with me for the afternoon.   Here she is preparing a VERY important report, and might I add she is the happiest little receptionist around!!
Preparing for a big meeting with Thumper in tow....
On Sunday, Kambry attended Nursery for the very first time.  She actually should have started the week before, but she unfortunately caught a cold so we kept her with us.  Kevin walked her into Nursery as I had to teach Gospel Doctrine and she ran straight for the toys.  He thought this is great, and snuck out before she noticed he was gone.  Well, shortly after his departure she realized she didn't really know anyone and got REALLY MAD.  She wouldn't let anyone talk to her, or even get close to her.  After several minutes of that, she realized that her parents weren't coming right back, so she finally gave in to her teacher Stephanie and let her hold her.  She was held for a while until it was "Bubble" time and she loves bubbles and started to loosen up after that and was fine until the end of class.  However, when class was over, someone opened the door and she saw me down the hall.  I wasn't quite close enough to get her, and lets just say she wigged out.  She was screaming uncontrollably, and it seemed like forever before I could make my way through the crowd to comfort her.   She was happy as a clam as soon as I took her in my arms.  Let's just say the rest of the day she was a little clingy to both of us and did NOT want us to leave her side.  Needless to say, I think this Sunday might be a little interesting.  :)

And, just as a funny - have I ever mentioned that Kambry LOVES shoes?  She loves to wear everyone and anyones shoes.  Yesterday Madi (Kambry's cousin) left her shoes at daycare.  I brought them home for my sister and Kambry has insisted on wearing them.  She loves to wear them and throws a fit if I take them off.  I finally got them off long enough to put her in the tub in the evening and I thought I had hid them.  Well, after the tub and she was all ready for bed, I was in the bathroom cleaning up and getting ready to brush K's teeth.  I called her into the bathroom and here she comes with Madi's shoes in hand.  I had to laugh and before I could brush her teeth, she had to put them on so I decided to capture the moment.   P.S. I love that little kids always put shoes on the wrong feet.  It crackes me up!!

18 months!

Happy 18 months baby girl!  You are at such a fun playful stage, but I can't believe I don't have a baby any more.  I remember when you were a newborn and looking at clothes that were 18 months and thinking it was going to take forever for you to grow into those clothes and now they fit and I wonder where the time has gone?  It has absolutely flown by!

We walked past the spare bedroom the other day and you noticed all your baby toys stored away, you went running for your old bouncer and begged to get in and play, so I let you.  I sat back and laughed because as a baby you ABSOLUTELY hated this thing, and yet at 18 months you are happy as a clam playing in it.  I mean, look at this face - pure happiness.

She loves to play outside and has loved having a water table to play with.  It is fun watching her learn and play with new toys.  She was in heaven when we let her drench her clothes while playing with the water table.  Too bad we were having too much fun playing along take pictures of the water mess.

Kambry loves to play on our phones and "her" Ipad, and some times both at the same time.  She can manuever them and find her favorite games.  To date her favorites are Talking Tom and Talking Santa.  She loves to inflict pain on them so that they say "ouch" "ouch" and then she laughes and laughes and does it again.  She also loves to play Angry Birds and can flip the birds backwards like nobody's business, but she has a blast doing it.  Another favorite is "I hear ewe" and it has lots of animal sounds and car sounds.  She loves to start the three little pigs story book, and seriously loves the first page being read and then quickly turns it off and starts the process all over again. Can't wait to hear what happens on page 2. j/k
The other night Daddy was watching Kambry while Mommy was at a work dinner.  He taught her how to "Walk" on her head.  He was so good to remember to catch it on video.  Look at our little gymnast...  (please disregard the exposed pipe in the wall that we still haven't covered up.)  Also, check her out in the first video.  When she is done walking on her head, she looks up at our Deer "Fred" that is hanging on the wall and starts barking at him.  It cracks me up every time.

Kambry loves to jabber away, to date her favorite words are:
Hi
Doggy
Mommy
Daddy
Fuzzy
Papa
Pease (Please)
What's Dat
Here
Ouch
Uh Oh
Kitty
Shoes
She signs "More"
She shakes her head NO when she doesn't want something

This morning she woke me up by saying "Mom", "Mom", "Mommy", "Mommy", "Mom", over and over again until I went in and got her out of bed.  I have dreamed about my baby calling my name in the morning for a very long time. It made my day!!   I am so grateful Kambry is part of our family. She has brought so much happiness and joy into our lives.

Daddy and Mommy love you so much!

Easter 2012

We had a fabulous Easter. We started the festivities on Saturday morning bright and early at the Orem City/Ken Garff Easter Egg Hunt. We spent all week preparing Kambry for the Easter Egg Hunt so that she would get the concept. When we got there, she couldn't wait to get out on the grass and let the hunting begin.

Too bad the people running the show weren't getting the hint and she sort of had a melt down. Ya see, she LOVES the grass, and that is where all the eggs were and we weren't allowed on the grass until the horn blew. Once the horn blew, she took off like she ran the show and was able to secure about 7 eggs and some candy that was thrown out on the grass.

The face of one Easter Lovin little girl. :)

Kambry was lucky enough to win an Easter Basket and Toy from the Easter Egg Hunt and she was loving her new prize.

After the Easter Egg hunt, we headed home to get ready for our annual 4-wheeling, picnic, Easter Egg hunt. We had a fabulous time enjoying the nice weather and company.

Kambry loved playing in the dirt and finding more Easter Eggs.

Then on Sunday, Kambry saw what the Easter Bunny left her. The Easter basket on the Right with her hand in it was given to Kambry from her Suzy. She gave her Easter eggs filled with bunny marshmallows, a cute stuffed lamb, a stuffed monkey, a water bottle, and the pretty princess dress that Kambry is wearing. We gave her the basket on the left with her favorite sweet tart jelly beans, smarties, the little stuffed bunnie and the 2 outfits on the couch. She loved it all.

We hope you all had a fabulous Easter as well.
